This work was part of a series of small paintings that brings together the motifs that are described in the landscape’s cycle of growth and change, shapes and configurations that form the starting point for these abstract compositions.
In most instances the work is projected by the process of painting, the work evolves and the direction of composition and colours are considered along the way until it is completed.
This painting is unframed so you can select a frame that reflects what you like. All my artworks are on a fine weave canvas made of either 100% cotton, linen or a cotton-polyester blend. Painted with professional acrylic paints the colors have a high pigment content which means a greater intensity of color. Canvases are stretched on either hardwood or pine professional stretchers, made in Melbourne. I like to do the initial assembling of the stretchers and stretching of the canvases myself which gives me a familiarity with the wood and the surface of the weave and marks the beginning of a new work.
