Unique mangrove forests cluster in fringes along our coastal regions. Nature’s remarkable ability to regenerate and sustain life is seen in the Mangroves unusual reproduction of live young roots – vivipary. These oxygen hungry feelers reach upwards from their mud beds forming an intriguing scene, an eerie landscape and provided the inspiration for this work.

Made with love

This painting is unframed so you can select a frame that reflects what you like.  All my artworks are on a fine weave canvas made of  either 100% cotton, linen or a cotton-polyester blend. Painted with professional acrylic paints the colors have a high pigment content which means a greater intensity of color. Canvases are stretched on either hardwood or pine professional stretchers, made in Melbourne. I like to do the initial assembling of the stretchers and  stretching of the canvases myself which gives me a familiarity with the wood and the surface of the weave and marks the beginning of a new work.
