Wendy Grace
Soft Spinifex a perennial grass of the desert provided inspiration for my painting Watarrka. Long slender stalks from straw coloured clusters during the daylight are transformed in colour as dusk approaches. Greys of purple contrasted with the red oxide of the soil create a dreamlike desert scene.

Made with love

This painting is unframed so you can select a frame that reflects what you like.  All my artworks are on a fine weave canvas made of  either 100% cotton, linen or a cotton-polyester blend. Painted with professional acrylic paints the colors have a high pigment content which means a greater intensity of color. Canvases are stretched on either hardwood or pine professional stretchers, made in Melbourne. I like to do the initial assembling of the stretchers and  stretching of the canvases myself which gives me a familiarity with the wood and the surface of the weave and marks the beginning of a new work.
